故事讲得太平了，在大悬念的基础上没有去精心设计层层相扣的小悬念保证节奏——旅馆夫妇鬼鬼祟祟的表情一看就是在隐藏秘密，Dirk Bogarde的男主胸有成竹的样子一看就是能成功抓到破绽。一些配角也塑造得太扁平，O'Donovan母女给人的感觉就是一堆冗余的戏、性格还没刻画好，女主**的形象更是模糊。
